Dear Mayor Johnston:

Our family held the funeral for my father Walter (Lee) Williams on Tuesday April 14th at the Meyers Funeral Home in Parkville. At that time the city was working on a utility problem at the corner of 5th and Main which is at the north end of the block on which the Meyers Funeral Home is located. The street was torn up and was not usable for through traffic. We were unaware the construction would be taking place so as you can imagine we were somewhat concerned about how this would effect the funeral process.

I would like to thank all of the members of the city crew and the city engineer who were working on this project. These gentlemen went out of their way to make sure we were able to back the hearse and other vehicles in place from 4th street. They moved their vehicles as needed with no hesitation. They were as polite as if it was their own father's funeral and could not have been more kind and considerate of our feelings.

I want to congratulate you and the City of Parkville on having such outstanding, caring individuals taking care of your community. Unfortunately I did not get the names of any of the gentlemen to thank them personally. I hope you will be able to pass along our thanks to these fine gentlemen and convey our appreciation.
