Thanks, Matt. We will the agreement signed and returned. Could you forward an invoice for our accounting folks?

Would you be available to provide a Platte County EDC update to our Board of Aldermen on August 4th? Alicia use to do this each year and the Board appreciates hearing an update about some of the things going on. Let me know.

Mayor Johnston, City Administrator Joe Parente,

Greetings and good afternoon! I hope you all are doing well and enjoying this much-needed rain.

First and foremost, I deeply appreciate the City of Parkville's commitment to the Platte County Economic Development Council (PCEDC) mission of advancing economic development throughout Platte County. Your investment directly supports our important efforts to attract, retain, and expand businesses and talent (people) so that our communities can flourish. Parkville represents an absolutely vital contributor to the overall economic health and vitality of our region.

As I understand, in the past PCEDC would collaborate in the June/July timeframe to discuss the City of Parkville's annual investor membership renewal. My apologies for being a bit later this year, as I have been working with the Platte County Commission on administering their "Survive & Thrive" Small Business Grant Program. Of interest to note: as of July 16th there were 42 businesses from Parkville who have applied. Great news!

This being my first renewal with the City of Parkville as Executive Director for PCEDC, I wanted to reach out and determine what the best course of action would be with the City. As a way to potentially get the ball rolling, I went ahead and wrote up a draft contract (see attached .doc & .pdf). PCEDC will also supply a cover letter highlighting all the accomplishments achieved related to Parkville, along with a 2019 Annual Report that highlights the components related to Parkville. It's important to note that the PCEDC Board of Directors passed slight price increases to the investor levels after the City's contract was completed in 2019. For the City of Parkville's "Gold" level, it went from $2,000 to $2,100 and is reflected in the attached contract.

I would also like to take this opportunity to request scheduling a meeting soon to discuss how PCEDC can further improve our partnership with the City of Parkville. Depending on your comfort level, I am happy to do a remote Zoom session and/or an in-person meeting. I find it crucially important to meet on a frequent basis with our community partners to discuss the current happenings and strategic economic development direction.

Please feel free to contact me ANYTIME as I look forward to connecting further soon and identifying ways to bolster our partnership!

Make it a great day,

Matt Tapp, AICP
